NOTE: The CD-ROM drive controller can be a separate expansion card or the controller can be built onto a another card (such as, sound card with CD-ROM drive port).
b) For internal CD-ROM drives, trace the data cable (40 or 50-pin ribbon cable) from the back of the drive unit to an adapter located on an expansion card or on the motherboard.
